Industrial Action Tuesday 28th February 2023

Please be reminded of our previous communication here regarding the planned industrial action by the National Education Union on the following remaining dates:

  • Tuesday 28th February
  • Wednesday 15th March
  • Thursday 16th March

As with the previous strike (on Wednesday 1st February), the Academy will close to Y7, Y8, Y9 and Y10 students. Y11 will attend school as normal, attending core lessons and completing mock examinations

Students who are vulnerable (as deemed by the safeguarding criteria set out by the government) have been contacted and invited to attend the Academy by the SENDCO and safeguarding team.

If your child/ children are in receipt of Free School Meals, we will be offering a hot meal option and you will receive a survey shortly asking you to confirm if you would like your child to receive this. A nil response will be taken as a no. Students eligible will be able to attend the Academy on the strike day between 12.15pm and 12.45pm to dine in the canteen.

Home learning is available to Y7-Y10 students in both electronic and paper-based form. See below.

Home learning- Tuesday 28th Feb PAPER BASED

Paper copies will be available to students via tutors on Monday 27th February. Students can choose to complete either the electronic home learning or the paper based tasks (they do not need to do both).

We understand the difficulty that strike days may pose for our families and as such we want to reiterate that our decision has been made based around the health and safety of all our students.

If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the Academy on enquiries@hindehouse.net.

The Academy will be open as normal on Wednesday 1st March.

Thank you for your continued support.
