Mr Zia - Principal at Hinde House 2-16 Academy

In April 2020, I took up the post as Principal at Hinde House 2-16 Academy, becoming the first British Pakistani Muslim headteacher of a mainstream secondary school in Sheffield. I have gained over 20 years of experience in Secondary School education, taking up leadership roles such as Director of Maths and Associate Principal.

My main responsibility is to lead, develop and support the strategic direction, vision, and values of Brigantia Learning Trust to enhance school improvement. Therefore, my role involves working in collaboration with Trust Executives by reporting progress on key aspects of the academy and promoting diversity. This aims to bridge the gaps that exist in secondary school education and allows me to inspire the future generations of school youth.

I am invested in all pupils, irrespective of their academic ability or background. I believe in creating equal opportunities in education, which supports and adequately challenges pupils to achieve their absolute potential, in order to become positive contributors to society.

Outside of my role as a headteacher, I am also passionate about giving back to the community. For example, I have led community initiatives that support the vulnerable and elderly.

Mrs M Clement-Omaison (Vice Principal)

As a proud alumna of Hinde House Academy, I am deeply committed to serving the community I grew up in. I returned to Hinde House as a newly qualified Science teacher in 2009, progressing to Head of Science and later to my current role as Vice Principal for Quality of Education.

My primary focus is on ensuring that every student not only gains knowledge and skills but also develops the attitudes and experiences necessary for their overall success. During my time at HHA, I have been motivated by a commitment to this, leading me to pursue additional education including a Masters in Education, a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership, and a foundation degree in Instructional Teacher Coaching.

In addition to my responsibilities within our school, I have actively contributed to educational initiatives, including delivering the National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQSL) to teachers across the region.

Mr C Elliott (Vice Principal)

I joined Hinde House Academy in 2019 following several years as Head of Maths at an academy nearby. When I joined Hinde House, I led the Maths department, including spending some time working with Year 6 students in the Primary Phase. In 2021 I joined the Senior Leadership team supporting curriculum and outcomes. From September 2022 I have taken on the role of Vice Principal for Outcomes. Outside of school I enjoy running and hope to complete another Half Marathon in the near future and smash my Personal Best!

 Mr Lee Vestey (Vice Principal)

I started working for Hinde House in 2019 as Teacher of Maths and Year Leader.  In 2022 I became Assistant Principal responsible for Behaviour & Standards before moving into my current role as Vice Principal for Inclusion and Designated Safeguarding Lead in September 2023. I am passionate to improve the life chances of children and improve their quality of life through education. This holds the key for them to have options for their futures and become valuable members of society. Outside of work my true loves are family, friends and football (UTB).

Miss L Fox (2-16 SENCO/Assistant Principal)

I joined Hinde House 2-16 Academy in 2009. Since then, I have been lucky enough to hold a few different roles that have allowed me to work with some of our most vulnerable students, improving their experience of school and their outcomes. Responsibilities have included SEND Lead in science, EAL School Champion and as Head of Year. I became the SENCO 2-16 for Hinde House Academy in April 2022 and have the National SENCO Award.  During my 15 years at Hinde House, I have also had the privilege of running the gardening club, taking pupils to inspirational beauty spots such as Kew Gardens, London, and Chatsworth House. I continue to be an avid gardener and enjoy time out in the great outdoors.

Miss B Williams (Assistant Principal)

I joined Hinde House Academy in 2017 as part of the Teach First programme. I began my leadership journey as the ECT induction tutor for new teachers to the Academy. I then took on the role of coordinating staff professional development and am now Assistant Principal for Teaching & Learning and Personal Development.
