Hinde House

Our Staff

Mr Daniel Cross - Principal - HHA

As Interim Principal of Hinde House Academy I could not be prouder to lead this amazing school.  Hinde House is a warm, welcoming Academy which supports the best possible learning for all of it's students, whilst being the beating heart of the community.  In my role, I hope to ensure that staff, students, parents and other stakeholders feel part of the collective journey that Hinde House is on as we work to continue being one of the best Academies in Sheffield.  In my personal life, I am the proud father to 3 wonderful children, and my wife and I love spending time away as a family in our newly acquired campervan.  I am also a keen scuba diver, and I have recently taken up cross fit.

Mr C Elliott (Vice Principal)

I joined Hinde House Academy in 2019 following several years as Head of Maths at an academy nearby. When I joined Hinde House, I led the Maths department, including spending some time working with Year 6 students in the Primary Phase. In 2021 I joined the Senior Leadership team supporting curriculum and outcomes. From September 2022 I have taken on the role of Vice Principal for Outcomes. Outside of school I enjoy running and hope to complete another Half Marathon in the near future and smash my Personal Best!

Mr L Vestey (Vice Principal)

I started working for Hinde House in 2019 as Teacher of Maths and Year Leader.  In 2022 I became Assistant Principal responsible for Behaviour & Standards before moving into my current role as Vice Principal for Inclusion and Designated Safeguarding Lead in September 2023. I am passionate to improve the life chances of children and improve their quality of life through education. This holds the key for them to have options for their futures and become valuable members of society. Outside of work my true loves are family, friends and football (UTB).

Ms J Iontton (Vice Principal)

I graduated from Chester University in 2014 and since then I have had the privilege of working in several schools across the country and abroad. I have worked with a wide range of families and communities and truly believe that every child can achieve excellence.

While working in London, I became a Deputy Head of a school and worked regionally to train new teachers, support the development of curriculums, and support teachers to close the gap for our most vulnerable children.

For me, teaching and learning is a true passion. I want to create an environment where teachers love teaching and children love learning. I am proud to be part of a trust that puts the children and care at the centre of all they do.

Mr D Gormal (Vice Principal)

My first role in school was as a 1:1 and I studied whilst working as a teaching assistant and cover supervisor before gaining my degree and teaching qualification to take up my first teaching post. I am passionate about the use of technology in education and completed my NPQSL during lockdown with a focus on the use of virtual learning environments on pupil engagement and attainment. I am currently working towards my NPQH qualification. Before joining Hinde House, I worked in Sheffield as a senior leader for another academy trust for a number of years including a period acting as Head of School. My educational philosophy is that everyone in the classroom should learn regardless of their individual circumstances and as such, I am committed to providing the best opportunities and outcomes for our students and families as part of Hinde House Academy and Brigantia Learning Trust. When not in school, I can be found exploring the Peak District with my family in our campervan.

Miss B Williams (Assistant Principal)

I joined Hinde House Academy in 2017 as part of the Teach First programme. I began my leadership journey as the ECT induction tutor for new teachers to the Academy. I then took on the role of coordinating staff professional development and am now Assistant Principal for Teaching & Learning and Personal Development.

Miss L Fox (2-16 SENCO/Assistant Principal)

I joined Hinde House 2-16 Academy in 2009. Since then, I have been lucky enough to hold a few different roles that have allowed me to work with some of our most vulnerable students, improving their experience of school and their outcomes. Responsibilities have included SEND Lead in science, EAL School Champion and as Head of Year. I became the SENCO 2-16 for Hinde House Academy in April 2022 and have the National SENCO Award.  During my 15 years at Hinde House, I have also had the privilege of running the gardening club, taking pupils to inspirational beauty spots such as Kew Gardens, London, and Chatsworth House. I continue to be an avid gardener and enjoy time out in the great outdoors.
