Department/subject info and philosophy:

The intent of History at Hinde House is that students access a range of historical knowledge and concepts through enquiry questions. These enquiries, which have been posited by historians drive the learning journey and gives students a chance to engage with historical thinking at both a local and global level.

Some example enquiries:

  • ‘The personal is political’ (Carole Hanisch) How far do you agree. Theme: Democracy. Concept: Change over time
  • Do societies always promise more than they can deliver? (Stavrianos). Theme: Migration. Concept: Diversity
