Y10 Work Experience

Y10 Work Experience (for the present Y11s) at the end of the summer term, was tremendously successful with many, many, glowing reports received from a range of employers on our students:

“Bradley asks why and proposes some brilliant ideas. He already shows a conscientiousness in coaching and work effort that many older people don’t show. He’ll be offered a job with us.”

“Tom has been a great addition to the team. Always looking to keep busy, he also interacted well with other employees. A credit to his family, himself and school.”

“Andrea has built a great relationship with the children at this school. She is very adaptable to all situations and has developed a resounding level of flexibility.”

“Lots of staff members have commented on Rifa’s hard work, initiative and dedication. What a fantastic ambassador for Hinde House School.”

These are just a few, out of so many. We are so very proud of our students out in the big, wide world of work!

Now – it’s the turn of our present Y10s to be even more aspirational, motivated and successful!

Students may organise their own placements by contacting their chosen employer, handing over the dates and if agreed in principle, collecting an orange self-placement form from Mrs Robshaw in school, to be completed by the employer.

Otherwise, as we work very closely with Sheffield City Council, we rely on placements allocated to us by their Work Experience Department, which we then match with students’ interests, if they have not chosen to organise their own.

Last year, 60% of our students organised their own placement (Health & Safety checked by Sheffield City Council).

So please – parents/carers, encourage your child to organise their own – talk to them – suggest ideas (as you know them best) and encourage a positive attitude to this enhancing, challenging and maturing opportunity!
