Cashless Catering and ParentPay

Our caterers for school meals use a cashless system therefor all students have an account that must have credit added to it to use use at the tills to buy food and snacks.

This system incorporates the latest biometric technology and eliminates the need for pupils to carry cash throughout the day thus reducing the risk of bullying.

This system will be operating from the first day of term and as such no cash will be accepted at the till.

We ask that all parents use the ParentPay online system to add credit to the childrens accounts before the start of school.

Any amount of money can be paid into a pupil’s account, and any money spent on food & drink will be deducted on a daily basis.

Using ParentPay, parents can monitor purchases made by their child and add credit online for purchasing school dinners etc. More information here

The cashless till system uses a Biometric code based on a finger/thumb scan (not a fingerprint). Therefor we must have your permission to take a scan from your child's finger/thumb. Please see information here

Students will be issued a Pin on the first day of school to use until they can use the secure Biometric code. (Please ensure that you have completed the Parental Consent section on the Update Information Section on EdulinkOne).

Videos for Y6 students

Welcome to Hinde House Academy

Starting secondary school can be very exciting. In a normal year we would already have met and be preparing for you to spend some time in school. However, due to the current situation, transition this year will be very different. This has made some students quite anxious about their move up to secondary. For this reason I am asking you to have a look at the videos on the BBC website that focus on transition from primary to secondary school.

What’s the difference between primary and secondary school?

On this page you will find videos showing
• The difference between primary and secondary school
• Subjects and timetables
• Starting a new school
• Growing up in secondary

Starting secondary school

On this page you will find videos showing
• A day in the life of Alfie. A new Year 7 student.
• Getting lost. One of the main concerns of students new to secondary is about getting lost. Use this video to give you some help, advice and reassurances.
• You will also find some activities to help you
